The subtle scent of tree bark in FLORAL evokes the breath of deep forests, making it a botanical honey with a unique character.  The white flowers of Floral slightly earlier than the Manuka flowers in the mountainous regions of New Zealand’s North Island during the  Japanese winter (New Zealand’s summer), blanketing the landscape as if covered in snow.

This honey is similar to the Riesling variety (a type of white wine grape), offers a transparency and a subtle fruity aroma that lingers in the mouth, stimulating the senses.
It pairs well with a variety of ingredients, but we recommend starting by enjoying it on its own. Experience the fresh and crisp flavor born from New Zealand’s deep forests.

How to Eat

FLORAL is the honey from the TCN original honey series that we most recommend enjoying on its own. With a subtle toasty flavor and a refreshingly  fruity taste, FLORAL falls between the sweet DULCE and the uniquely salty HERBACEOUS. It is enjoyable for everyone from beginners to dedicated honey enthusiasts. This honey pairs well with wine, cheese, and dried fruits. Its unique character is further enhanced when spread on simple foods like crackers.

About Quality

Raw honey contains natural enzymes, vitamins, and a wealth of “antioxidants” that help protect us from oxidative stress.  To preserve these beneficial health components, TCN utilizes a unique manufacturing process and delivers products directly to you  without going through retail markets, ensuring a direct-to-consumer approach.

Selecting the best honey during the season requires the skilled “eye” of an expert. Our raw materials are carefully chosen by a  Japanese experienced beekeeper living locally, who uses years of experience and intuition to pick the finest honey and transport it to Japan. In Japan, we adhere to the same “no stock” principle as with our Manuka honey, producing in very small batches.  This approach results in products that are nearly custom-made, ensuring the highest level of quality.

Even after production, the honey continues to undergo a gentle maturation process, evolving into a richer and more complex flavor.  This characteristic is one of the unique features of fresh, raw honey.

About Safety

TCN’s original raw honey does not use polyfloral honey (a blend of various types of honey). It is produced using nectar selected by  experienced Japanese beekeepers who reside in New Zealand.

Raw honey is transported in its raw form by food-grade containers to Japan. Throughout the manufacturing process in domestic factories and  until it reaches your hands, the product is handled under consistent temperature conditions. Although legally classified as a processed food,  raw honey requires delicate management similar to that of fresh foods. While honey is generally known for its high antibacterial properties and long shelf life, enjoying the true benefits of raw honey requires meticulous attention to temperature and time.

HMF (hydroxymethylfurfural), produced by heat, is regulated internationally to not exceed 40 mg per kg. We conduct tests both before  departure from the local origin and after arrival in Japan to ensure that our products meet these standards.

The raw materials undergo pesticide testing twice before import and upon arrival in Japan. We ensure that the materials meet pesticide standards, including glyphosate levels. In Japan, testing is conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare-approved organization,  Eurofins QK En Japan Inc., while in New Zealand, testing is carried out by the government-approved laboratory, ALS Food and Environmental NZ.
